Dr. Ralph F. Wilson, of Web Marketing Today posted this new video today. He interviews conversion expert Tim Ash about
Four Pillars of Trust:
Authority. Anybody can write or say almost anything. Who says you are an authority?
Transactional Assurances. Convince me I should deal with you or hire you! That is what the prospect is asking. And, it is your job to do so, no his/hers to extrapolate.
Social Proof. Friends’ opinions have a lot to do with the decision making process nowadays. What do members of your community or tribe have to say about it?
Appearance. Whatever your target market is, be sure to play the part.
One important point made under appearance, with reference to redesigning a Web site, is: “…it is important that your Website designer understands persuasion” and I agree. I would also add that you must include a knowledge of search engine optimization as well as social media marketing to successfully market your Web site or yourself. As I always say: “It doesn’t matter how pretty your Web site is if no one visits it!” Or, how talented you are if no one ‘sees’ you!
I’ve been following Dr. Wilson for several years and downloaded his guides when I first started marketing on the Web. You might check him out at http://www.wilsonweb.com.
